Switching to Unity

You built your book over years. Moving it to Unity takes an afternoon — and you don't lose a single client doing it.

Every preparer who's changed software knows the fear, and it isn't the learning curve. It's the season. What if the conversion drops half my clients? What if I'm on hold in the second week of February with a return open and a taxpayer sitting across the desk? So you stay where you are, and you keep paying for it — because the risk of moving feels worse than the cost of standing still.

Here's what switching to Unity actually is: one screen-share session, thirty to sixty minutes, with a specialist who builds your office out while you watch. Your prior-year clients come with you. Your bank enrollment goes in on the same call. And the person who set you up is still one phone call away in the middle of the season — same number, every time.

What we'll ask for

Five minutes of prep, and that's the whole ask.

Before the call we send one short email with exactly what to have in front of you:

  • Your EFIN, PTIN, and EIN
  • Name, email, and PTIN for each preparer you're setting up
  • The prep fees you charge, for your price sheet
  • Your bank's routing and account numbers, for prep-fee deposits
  • A card for the flat $20-per-accepted-return billing

If you're converting data or pulling prior-year bank forms, we tell you ahead of time exactly which logins you'll need — so there's no scavenger hunt in the middle of the call. With that in hand, here's how the switch itself goes.

The switch, start to finish

No mystery. No marathon.

1

We call you — usually the next day.

The moment your enrollment clears, an onboarding specialist reaches out to schedule you. Offices are typically set up within a day or two of signing. Not weeks, not "sometime before season."

2

One session. We drive, you learn.

Your specialist connects to your screen and stands the whole office up with you, live — not a video to watch later, not a ticket in a queue. Inside that half-hour-to-hour we:

  • Get you into your software and oriented — where your returns, forms, and settings live
  • Set up every preparer in your office with the right roles and permissions
  • Build your master return template, so your firm info, banking, and fees are already in place before the first return ever opens
  • Load your price sheet with the fees you charge
  • Turn on your co-branded mobile app
  • Submit your Republic Bank enrollment, right there on the call
  • Walk you through your support portal — training, the season's IRS and bank dates, billing, and how to reach us
3

Your clients come with you.

We convert your prior-year data from your old software, free, so returning clients carry forward exactly as they were — no re-keying, no opening the season on an empty database.

4

You're filing within 24 hours.

Republic clears the bank enrollment on its side, usually within a day. You finish a short compliance step, and your office is live for the season.

After you're live

The person who set you up doesn't disappear.

The same team is one call away all season — same number, real people, screen-share when you need it. And you're plugged into a national community of offices running the exact platform you are, plus live training for the moments that earn it: a new form, a law change, a new hire.

The switch is the easy part.

One session. Your clients intact. Your bank enrollment in. A specialist who's still there in February when it counts. That's the whole thing — and it's the reason most offices that move to Unity say the only mistake was not doing it a season sooner.
